First, you have to decide what you want to do in your studio. You need to decide the kind of audio services you want to provide. Do you want to do music beds for commercials, voiceovers, or a full-blown multitrack studio? This choice will dramatically affect what you need to buy. For this example, we'll talk about what a voiceover studio might need.
Second, you need to spend smart. This is obvious, but not always easy. If you want to do voiceover work, you'll need three major items: a good microphone, a good interface, and good software.
